On Saturday, November 24, New Fairfield’s local clubs, businesses, and organizations will be working together to bring residents a day of festive holiday fun.
Here’s the line-up: At 12:30pm-3:30pm, New Fairfield Parks & Recreation, in conjunction with the New Fairfield Library, presents Santa’s Workshop and Gingerbread House. Children can visit with Santa, Mrs. Claus and their elves at Santa’s Workshop upstairs in the library. Children will receive a FREE book courtesy of New Fairfield Parks and Recreation and its’ Commission. Stop by the Children’s Library to visit the gingerbread man in his house. Don’t forget to bring your camera! Photos will be taken with Santa by reserved time slot only until 3:30pm by calling 203-312-5633 through November 21st until 11:00am.
From 12:30pm-3:30pm Take a FREE ride on the HART Transit Trolley. The trolley will stop in front of Town Hall making various stops around the town center and returning to Town Hall.
12:30-4:30p.m. visit the following businesses in celebration of small business day
1:00-3:00 p.m.
5:15 p.m. The holiday light parade begins. The parade will begin at the intersection of Saw Mill Rd. and RT.37. The parade will turn right onto RT. 37 heading towards the traffic light. Then bear left at light and proceed past Town Hall. Santa will arrive at the end of the parade to light the holiday tree at Memorial Field.
5:45 p.m. Join Santa in lighting the town Christmas tree. The NFHS Chamber Ensemble will sing carols at the gazebo. FREE refreshments will be served by Starbucks, hot chocolate provided by the New Fairfield Parks & Recreation Commission and hot cider and treats provided by St. Edwards. Cookies provided by the New Fairfield Senior Center and People’s United Bank. Children’s balloons provided by Neumann Real Estate.
