On Saturday, August 19 at 7:30 pm, the JCC in Sherman is will host the Sounds of Sinatra, featuring Chris Vlangas and his 6-piece jazz orchestra, performing many of your favorite Frank Sinatra hits, as well as a few hidden gems. Tickets to the show are $25 for JCC members and $30 for non-members. Students ages twelve to eighteen or those with a college ID can take advantage of a special student price of just $15. Light refreshments will be served during intermission.
Chris, a local Sherman resident, entertained audiences all across the world and on national television while serving as a U.S. Navy musician. He performed his popular rendition of New York, New York for five years in Times Square during Fleet Week and is excited to bring it to the JCC stage.
The orchestra is made up of top-notch jazz musicians from the New York and Connecticut area including Keith Gurland on saxophone, Larry Nissman on trumpet, Joe Letizia on trombone, Dave Child on piano, and Mike Nunno on bass. Members of the band have played all across the world with the tribute bands of Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw, Tommy Dorsey and with national talent such as Barbara Streisand, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennet and more.
