Please join us on Sunday, September 9 to honor those lost on September 11. The ceremony will begin at 6:30 PM at Veterans Memorial Park and will pay special tribute to the New Fairfield residents lost that day. We will be joined by The New Fairfield High School Chamber Singers, Civil Air Patrol and Pastor Justin Smith of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.
We are also getting ready for New Fairfield Family Day. It promises to be a fun day for the family while showcasing local organizations and businesses. Many events are being planned to make this a great day to enjoy all that New Fairfield has to offer. The date is Saturday, September 15th, with a rain date of Sunday, the 16th. The hours are 12 noon to 4 pm.
New Fairfield Family Day will include two new events this year, a concert on Memorial Field on Friday, September 14 and the Community Service Club’s Taste of New Fairfield which will benefit our local residents who are still recovering from the May storm. The event will take place from 6pm – 10 pm, and tickets may be purchased at cscofnewfairfield.org or in person at the Senior Center. Don’t miss this great opportunity to sample the delicious food provided by New Fairfield restaurants and caterers, listen to music, and hang out with friends all for a great cause!
And finally, please be aware that Route 37 will be closed in both directions at Big Trail in Sherman for emergency road repairs. The work is expected to last about two weeks, but could continue through the end of September. Please use Route 39 to and from Sherman until further notice.
