New Fairfield Board of Selectmen (BOS) voted to hold a Town Meeting on Thursday, August 28 at 7:00 p.m. Residents in person at the Senior Center can vote on the following items which were all addressed in the August 14 BOS meeting—the final three were heavily discussed at recent Town BOS and Board of Finance meetings.
1. To consider and take action upon the acceptance of Farview Drive in Phase 3, Barn Brook Estates as a Town maintained road.
2. To consider and take action upon the acceptance of property transfer from the State of CT Department of Transportation certain parcels, rights and easements as described in Quit-Claim Deed dated, approved, and signed by Attorney Jeffrey Zeman from The State Attorney General Office on 7/31/24 and Maps: “Town of New Fairfield, Map Showing Land Released To Town of New Fairfield By the State of CT DOT, Gillotti Rd. Intersection Improvements, Scale 1” = 20’ Dated January 2024, Scott A. Hill, P.E., Chief Engineer – Bureau of Engineering and Construction” – Town No. 90, Project No. 1A, Sheet No. 1 of 2 and 2 of 2.
3. To consider and take action upon amendment of the Ordinance Chapter 8 – Licenses and Business Regulations, Article II -Peddlers, Vendors, Solicitors and Itinerant Vendors, Town of New Fairfield. -The full extent of the proposed Ordinance is on file and available for public inspection in the Office of the Selectmen.
4. To consider and take action upon the adoption of an Illicit Discharge and Connection Stormwater Ordinance regulating non-stormwater discharges to the storm drainage system to the Maximum Extent Practicable as required by federal and state law. -The full extent of the proposed Ordinance is on file and available for public inspection in the Office of the Selectmen.
5. To consider and authorize an appropriation of $100,000 from General Fund-Unreserved for Department of Public Works-Road Repair.
6. To consider and authorize an appropriation of $600,000 from General Fund-Interest Income and $350,000 from General Fund-Property Taxes-Prior for Medical Reserve Fund-Transfers In.
7. To consider and take action upon a lease agreement with VCP Realty, LLC c/o Verogy for the installation and operation of a solar photovoltaic project at 33 Bigelow Road, New Fairfield, CT 06812.
