At the January 9 meeting of the Board of Se
lectmen, the Board set a date for a town meeting to vote on the following:
“Notice is hereby given to the electors of the Town of New Fairfield and those entitled to vote at Town Meetings that a Town Meeting will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at 6:15 pm in the Community Room at 33 Route 37, in New Fairfield, CT, for the following purpose to wit:

“1. To consider and act upon an authorization to approve transfer of $35,275 from Cap & Non Animal Control to Animal Control Materials & Supplies.”
The Board also went into executive session t
o discuss the possible purchase of the property located at 78 Gillotti Road. This property borders the high school property and is adjacent to another parcel of land that the town currently owns. When the Board emerged from executive session, it voted unanimously to enter into negotiations to purchase the land from the current property owner.
The next regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen is scheduled for Thurs., Jan. 23 at 7:30 pm.
